Day 2
February 27, 2006
After leaving New Hampshire at about 6 am and 0 degrees we got on I-95 and drove south for a very long time. Now the plan was originally to head to I-40 but I like to keep my plans open. After about 18 hours of driving south we were in dillon South Carolina. We started seeing sign for South of the Border about 50 miles back one sign every mile these people really know how to advertise! We decided to get a room for the night after a full day of screaming at people in traffic through Massachusetts and then again in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia I was pretty tired and my brother on this road trip unfortunatley could not assist in any of the driving. So we turned into South of the Border and what a strange yet interesting place this was of course it was midnight and everything was closed not to mentionthe whole being tired exploring would have to wait till the morning. We did however make excellent timing and decent milage!

This is what we saw when we pull…
Pedroland
South of the Border or Pedro land has just about everything. Camping, hotels, a night club, an arcade for the kids, a theme park for the family, gift shops and restaurants like I said this place has just about everything. If you have ever driven on I-95 you’ll start seeing billboards 50 miles out just tempting you to check this place out. It’s a fun "little" place to check out. It was featured in at least 1 movie starring Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock called Forces of Nature there's a little tid bit fact for the movie buffs who read this. If you’re traveling with kids it’s a perfect place to stay they will not be bored. It’s not overly expensive and pretty easy to find along with other tourist destinations in the area like Myrtle Beach its worth checking out even if you don’t want to check in.
