Today we started a cycling trip direction Viborg- 47 kms- because we wanted to see more of midtjylland and nature.. since I only have 2 months left and have seen more of my room than denmark i felt I had to! we saw on the map that it was a straight line to Viborg and when we were actually cycling it really was 1 straight line of 47 kms to Viborg haha pretty easy yes.. we did it whitin 4 hours! and just when we entered Viborg it started to rain! awfully! and because it was a national holiday or somthing traditional all shops were closed .. except for 1> the subway.. I can already recommend that one! We also arranged a place to sleep in Viborg through couchsurfing (www.
The first impressions of Viborg was really cosy and historical little place! Its has a much inhabitants as Herning but looks smaller when you walk trough it.. but there is so much more to see .. like parks, museums, cathedral, statues, architecture.lakes, nature!
Thats why they took us to the nearby nature(5 minutes cycling) to bbq and play jenga! It was also amazing that the sun was shining really bright untill about 9 oclock!! you would rarely or never see that in Holland...
The next day after we came back from Fjarbaek we did walked around in Viborgs old centre.. it was really nice in at every corner of the city! houses kept in the style it was many years ago! We went to the skovgaard museum(art) wherethe paintings from the whole Skovgaard family were hanging but also paper art by a couple of new artists.
We also walked through some little parks with flowers,herbs,spices.. and with a statue of a guy called Steen Steeners.. which i think i quite funny ( a least for dutch people).. we continued into the shopping street but then its started to rain again and we had to run for a cafe... BUT.. we didnt know there were so less cafees in the Viborg centre!! but we found a nice one where they had ice coffee, hot chocolate and tea! After that we decided to go home and cook for our hosts but they end up cooking for us haha , we ate it outside on a bench in enjoying the sun .. yes then it was sunny again! you can never predict the weather in Denmark!
Next day we went home with a bright sun!.. but we needed it anyway because our trip for today would take about 70 kms.. because we first to Monsted to see the Kalkgruber and then to Herning! we came home sunburned :)
