FRIDAY: DAY 8: My breakfast finally included HASHBROWNS and HAGGIS! YUMMM! It does have a pepper taste to it but I like it and the hashbrowns were good too. Our 1st stop was the MACDUFF MARINE AQUARIUM. There were mostly groups of school children there. The areas included: Coastal Habitats, Rocky Shore & Shallow Waters, Deep Reef & Sea Floor, Sea Lab, Audiovisual Theatre & of course the Gift shop. I enjoyed it & I took lots of fish pictures. I bought a cool green keychain with my name on it. We stopped at the Royal Bank of Scotland to exchange money which the exchange rate was 1.99. UGH! I exchanged $500 and received 247.23 pounds.
Our 2nd stop was in Turriff at DELGATIE CASTLE that dates from 1570. The main tower dates from 1100.
FALL #2 happened here while I was walking to get closer pictures by the sea. I turned back around & stumbled & fell on the pebbles but held my camcorder up while I fell! It was the Softest Fall I ever had, all while saving the camera! We laughed about that the rest of the day. We then went to CROVIE (well the top of it) & had our pictures taken there. This hill was even steeper & there was no road at the bottom. From the website: "There is no room for a road so residents have to transport their goods from the car park at the end of the village using BARROWS".
We got back to the hotel & got ready to hang out at the hotel bar. The reception was here so we got to see A LOT of MEN IN KILTS & BAGPIPE MUSIC! I WAS LOVING THAT! We sat at the bar talking to the same bartender from the night before, and watching the wedding attendees and taking it all in. The bartender told us we could go in the reception area and that no one will mind. Well I think they did because we ended up getting kicked out! lol I met a guy that attended the wedding and hung out with him all night. It was a great time!
