She loved every bit of it

Boda-Bodas are motorcycle transporters, lol! Ok, I know I have mentioned that there were great changes in my country - some would argue that it is for the better, but if I had to write my story in black and white, I would say that the Boda-Bodas while convenient have increased traffic congestion in Kampala. While I was there, a thought came to my mind, I could start a boda-boda safari and the tourist might actually enjoy it. The stranger from the University of Wisconsin (Kevin), had quite some fun on it. I took my daughter on a Boda-Boda safari instead of a safari into the jungle (the wilderness now referred to as a national reserve).

It seems that in the last 5-6 years of my absence from home, everyone has managed to afford a car.

When I lived in Kampala, it seemed owning a car for me was like trying to go to the moon, and now buying a car is like going to a McDonald's drive through, lol!! My baby sister and little brothers all drive like they were taught by the taxi drivers. My friend Agnes drives like she was one of them and each time, I had to hold my breath and refrain from telling her to stop (she was the expert and the driver here). I, told her that if I drove in Kampala now after all the discipline in the US, I would be sure to kill quite a few people just by following the traffic rules, ha-ha! Have you been to Italy? Ugandans drive like the Italians but with more aggression and they love to hoot, goodness me!!

My sister got hit twice in the ten days I was there and she told me of an incident where the traffic guy picked on her instead of the guy who had caused the problem. They let her go once he noticed she had a diplomatic driver's license telling her "Huh! Madam, you are a diplomat, will you manage driving in Kampala?"

I enjoyed the Boda-Bodas quite a bit because they got me to where I was going faster than if I had used the taxis', but I must say the short cuts they take just about limits all traffic movement. On that note, I took Desire to the Bahai temple on a Boda-Boda with my brother Jimmy - it was nothing shot of exciting! I just might begin a BODA BODA safari business, my girlfriend and I have already talked about it ha-ha!
