I found my thrill on Blueberry Hill......
May 4, 2008
Wow where to begin. If you are all old enough..or young enough (reruns), and have seen happy days with Ritchie Cunningham (Ron Howard), then you will understand the song. If not it's a cute little song and every since I knew I was going to this section of my secret trail well I thought of this song going through my brain.
Again the day was nothing but sun and warm, this may be the last time the snow cat comes up this road as the snow is getting softer, and the hills are very steep. But was worth it today. We went a few extra miles more than we usually do to get to my secret place, my playground that I love so much. You will see the pictures at the end and know it was worth it all.
Was a two hour drive to the road, another one hour drive with the snowcat and then another 1. 5 hour hike into (blueberry cabin). It is called blueberry cabin because there are so many different types of wild blueberries that grow there in August...I eat till I can eat no more. We have to share all these great fruits with the bears then too..(heheheheh) But today was a snow covered paradise. We saw cougar tracks along the ridge, birds, and wee fox prints, (the fox are not indigenous to this area but escaped from a place across the mountain range) a few others I could not identify. Others who were a various different locations saw wolf, and bear (they are just coming out of hibernation). But no animals in sight...just the prints.
We went to the head of the trail (hey who really knows where it all starts), made our way through the forest of magic (fairies and pixies live there), then through the land of nod, then alas to the cabin. Yes there is a cabin in this woods, on this beautiful secret trail of mine, there are a few which I will share along the way in my journey of this trail this year. There are great ecco systems up there, lots of lakes (you can swim in), and cabins dotted along the way. It is awesome. I have been going to this trail for at least 12 years. helped build some, clear some, and shared lots of great experiences. There are no signs to this place, not way of knowing how to get there, but it is shared by the rare few that truly love this land, and preserve it, keep it clean and almost untouched. For you to get there you need to come and see me (hahahah), or take a journey with me, through my pictures...come along don't be afraid...it is fun.
OK so I know there are lots of snow pictures...I promise it will go away and greenery will appear. I have thrown in a couple of the cabin so you can see how it looks in the summer. But as the seasons change I will be there to take them as I go along.
So enjoy the journey as I go through my secret trail......come...come don't be shy...
