I know this will be a shock to some of you who read my blogs...but I really wanted to go to the trail this day...and I didn't want to go to the trail this day:(
When my friend first phoned me the evening before...I was all excited about going. The roads had been closed all week up to the trail...because with all of the heat it was getting really dry in the lower fields and causing some of the logging trucks to spark...so they closed the roads. But I was assured we had another way in:):)
so I was ready....or so I thought.
I woke up Saturday morning and it was cloudy...chilly...miserable (more me than the weather)...and I did not feel like going. Lots of wagghhh...waggh....wagghh...going on. so I phoned my friend and said I don't wanna go. ..it is to icky outside. I had a cold...a runny nose...I was coughing...waggh...waggh...waghhh...
But some how he talked me into going.
So reluctantly I got my camera...my backpack...food...water...my handy dandy hunting knife, bear spray and away we went. I though it would get better out sooner or later:)
So we drove into one of the trail heads that I had never been on before...so I got to see somewhere I had not previously been...I was getting excited...until.....I saw bear scat everywhere....and I mean everywhere...literally. so I was getting a bit nervous because I really did not feel like coming upon newly awakened bears and their young...my friend just nodded and told me to get over it.
So I thought well I may a well occupy myself and get some pictures of the spring flora and fauna around the area.
Then we hiked into the trail (not well marked at all)...went to one of the huts..filled up the water filters...peeked at the lake...came back drove home. I did not get home until well after 700pm...tired..had me shower...took all my cold medicine and called it a day.
I did enjoy my hike...the woods...the smell of the sweet fresh air...
Has the best sleep in a long time....
So come and enjoy the day with me......
