I did not need to use my snowshoes as the top was nice and hard...I only sunk into the snow a few times...but it was a lot of great fun.
The big opening day is coming soon for this hut. It was erected in honor of a man who passed away young and loved this trail so his wife had this built in his memory.
It's pretty awesome now, we have many large plaques telling the story of the trail, all of the wild animals that roam this fine land, the plants that grow only here, and other interesting facts...and pictures of all of the seasons.
The day was perfect.
This will be gone soon, and then the avalanche lilies will start their arrival of spring...by the millions.
You can hear the frogs singing their song all the way from here to China (hahahahaha). They fill the mountain range:)
We put up all of the signs, hung a few things outside the hut, had lunch and called it a day.
I loved this day...like I do all of the days I spend up here.
No matter how many times, or how many years I have come here...it always seems like the first.
It is filled with awe, and newness because it is always changing, always new.
the forest offers so much..life is everywhere. the forest and nature are an awesome thing and I am so lucky to live so near to such a vast and wonderful thing.
God provides so many beautiful things for our eyes to see....we have only to open them to look:)
Thanks for spending the day....enjoy!!!!!!!
