Jack Stack’s BBQ

Jack Stack Barbecue was originated in 1957 by the Fiorella family in the traditional style of a storefront Barbecue house with a modest selection of 5-6 items. Jack, the eldest son, worked there from its inception until 1974 when he decided to branch off to expand the Barbecue theme and start Fiorella's Smoke Stack of Martin City.

In the mid seventies, there were many good Barbecues in Kansas City.

The Grandfalloon
Jack says, "my wife (Delores) told me we were just another Barbecue joint in Kansas City. So we decided then we had to stand out." Jack brought Gourmet Hickory Wood Cookery in 1977 with brick-oven cooking and created the most extensive Barbecue menu in the country. From Jack and Delores' travels on the Yugoslav coast came the idea of grilling seafood over Hickory wood. Thus, Fresh Seafood was added to the traditional menu of Barbecue Meats and Hickory-grilled Poultry and Steaks.

Today, the restaurants have evolved from the typical Barbecue house and expanded into the largest, full-service Wood Cookery in the industry. They've also added Fiorella's Private Dining for events and celebrations along with a multi-million dollar catering division.

Howl at the Moon is a highly successful dueling piano concept that has grown to eleven locations since its inception in 1990. By providing its customers with an outstanding entertainment experience reminiscent of the best of New Orleans, Howl at the Moon has attracted a diverse and loyal following in every market that it has entered. The focal point of the nightclub is a stage featuring a pair of baby grand pianos. The piano players are the ringmasters responsible for creating the excitement that characterizes a night at Howl at the Moon. These piano players are hand picked from the finest regional talent and are thoroughly trained to continually thrill and entertain the audience. Howl at the Moon strives to keep their shows fresh with a mainstream and recognizable format that allows their typical customer to sing along with 90% of the songs.

Howl at the Moon's piano players take the stage two at a time. The entertainers play for one hour and then yield the stage to two new players. At the changeover, all four piano players stay on stage for what is known as a "four-way." The four-way occurs at the end of each hour and lasts for two to three songs. This hourly encore allows the piano players to incorporate additional instruments (drums, guitar, and saxophone) into the performance. The four-way raises the energy of the room and provides a defined transition between the piano player shifts.

Additionally, during every hour the Howl at the Moon entertainers engage in "Showtime." During this act, all Howl service employees join in and lead the audience through a choreographed routine to animated versions of popular tunes that include nostalgic TV shows and commercial jingles. The audience participation approaches 100% during Showtime and is enhanced by the high energy level of the live music.

Howl at the Moon is a total entertainment experience where the piano players and staff do not only entertain the guests; the guests become part of the show. The customers tend to be a diverse group comprised of guests of all ages. The regular clientele of Howl at the Moon is enhanced by traveling business people and conventioneers. Raglan Road Irish Pub-- At the fantastic Power and Light District. Opposite the even more fabulous new Sprint Arena.

Before it became the name of our establishment, Raglan Road became a song – a collaboration of sorts, which combined Patrick Kavanagh’s poem, Dark Haired Miriam Ran Away, with the traditional Irish air, The Dawning of the Day. The man who put it all together was none other than the great Luke Kelly of the Dubliners.

Since the 1960s, when Raglan Road was first recorded, many an Irish musician, including Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler, Billy Bragg, Sinead O’Connor and our own house band, Tusker Rock, have covered it. Come by some night and ask the lads to play it for you. You’ll understand.  With a Pub built in Ireland. Filled with glorious antique Bars, curios and artworks bought specially for our new home in Missouri.

We'll be bringing celebrity Chef Kevin Dundon's gorgeous celtic menu to town - giving our new customers a true taste of what we eat in Ireland today (hint we moved on from corned beef and cabbage...)

And to wash it down...some creamy Irish stouts, lagers and ales complemented by a fine selection of Irish Whiskies (hint: reserve your whiskey locker today)

It wouldn't be an Irish place without some real Irish entertainment (also imported) plus a late night DJ who'll play a mix of what's hot the other side of the pond.
