Tuscany trip day 3, Florence

4 Day trip to Pisa, Florence and Volterra area. First day was San Gervasio and that area. Then the next day we did the Bus tour of Pisa and then drove out to Volterra. Then the 3rd day we did Florence.

Tuscany trip day 3, Florence

The 3rd day of the Tuscany trip was all in Florence. Once again thank god for GPS systems. My garman took us right to the main station and the parking garage. This is where our hop on hop off bus tour picked us up. Unlike Pisa, these buses for pretty full. Our first stop was the Basillica di Santa Maria del Fiore, or the duomo. Then we walked up to the Galleria dell'Accademia to see Michelangelo's David but the line was very long so we skipped it. I'd seen it beofre though. Then we walked up to San Marco and got back on the bus. Our next stopped was Santa Croce. We went in this time and got to see the great peices in there along with Michelangelo's and Galileo's tombs. One of the best parts of the day was our last stop, Piazza Michelangelo. From here you can see all of Florence. A great place for pictures.
