Fort Lauderdale - Plantation

Plantation Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

This year we planned to make a cross-country trip from our home in central Califonia to Key West Florida and then back by a slightly more northern route. First plan is about 45 days.

Fort Lauderdale - Plantation

Tonight we are staying at what was supposed to be another Best Western, but turned out to be a Plantation Hotel. It looks like a nice facility and the rate is decent so we checked in. A nice clean room with two double beds and wireless internet! Yippee!

We ate dinner at Cici’s, which is a buffet Pizza Parlor. All you can eat pizza, and macaroni, sauces, and even dessert, which turned out to be the best part. They served an apple pie pizza that was quite good, along with a couple of other desserts.

Actually it was like extra small pieces (nearly apple butter) spreadover and then a cinnamon crumb topping baked on top. Ultra good!! Judy has been trying since we got home to make one herself. You gotta try it. :)

No longer a Best Western
This large 180 room facility is also a conference center here in the area. And although it was listed in our very new Best Western catalog of hotels and motels throughout the United States, it has now been changed over to just the Plantation Hotel and Conference Center. The rooms were not quite as fully equipped as most we had stayed in on this trip, but did have a coffee maker, iron and ironing board, WIFI, and hairdryer. This 2-story facility had all exterior corridors and had plenty of parking. One other thing that we missed here, this hotel did not have any breakfast, not even continental.
