Up and ready for a new day well before nine a.m. so we went down to the lobby for breakfast.  A small bowl of Raisin Bran cereal, a glass of orange juice and a cup of coffee.

Only one stop today and that is Rock City State Park, between Deming and Faywood, New Mexico. It is a very unusual outcropping of rocks in what is otherwise a very normal desert setting.  It is named this way because from a distance you think it is a small city ahead.  Only as you get close do you realize that it is just rocks, and very large rocks at that.  It is so unusual that according to the internet, only 6 places on earth will you find such rocks.  A small admission price per vehicle to get in and you can spend the day, or for a higher fee you can camp among the boulders. Not a real large area but about 50 individual sites, some with a fire pit and table. We drove very slowly around the area and got some pictures to share.

Then it was on the Las Cruces for the night.  We are staying at the Best Western Mission Inn. Today we traveled 260 miles and are now 975 miles from home according to my GPS unit.
