Just riding along, having left Fayetteville N.C. thinking about the mountains I was headed for. In the town of Raeford N.C. on the north side of the road in a large field is see the words INDOOR SKYDIVING. I slow down change lanes & turn around after thinking about it for a split second. Sign up go to the 3ed floor to watch someone in the wind tunnel who knows what they’re doing. I am not sure of the name of the group who is practicing, looks like fun to me. Mike the instructor calls us into class, watch a short video about what to expect, hand signals, about 10 minutes. Back to the 3ed floor to suit up- flight suit, ear plugs, helmet & goggles.
Start of flight #1
Mike say let’s do it, hands under chin lean in, assume the position, where have I heard that before? He is moving my arms & legs into the correct position for the best body flight. I keep getting the signal to relax which is hard to do when you are laughing & giggling at the top of your lungs. 1st flight up, down, touch floor, hit wall, repeat, it takes very little change in your arms & legs to make a big difference in directional change. Between flights Mike is talking, I’m nodding my head (ear plugs) with a GIANT smile on my face. He gets my attention when I see the thumbs up sign which I take as a question. Do you want to go up higher in the tunnel? Well HELL Yes, Mike can read lips Here we go up up & away Too Cool, one of the other dudes flies in, we are now in the Old School Triple. If you see the words INDOOR SKYDIVING please stop & experience it, you won’t be sorry.
