The Giant and The Midget...

Los Angeles Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

I've had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people on this site! The Vegas/LA Crew (you know who you all are), Alina from Toronto, Matt from the UK, James from Missouri and Sven from Germany...therefore when there is an opportunity to meet another fellow Travbuddy I will.

The Giant and The Midget...

Trying to fit me and George in a self portrait!

Jorge "Hurch" from Huatulco, Mexico had contacted me a couple of weeks or so ago that he would be in the US taking care of some business and that one of his stops was going to be in LA. Cool I thought and decided we would meet up for lunch or dinner when he came in to town. It turned out to be a mediocre midnight snack! By the time he came in to town it was about 10:30pm and earlier in the week we had chatted that he really wanted to have some Thai food. So, I contacted fellow travbuddies, "Tre69", "alicegourmet", and "Sheila35" to get some opinions on what is a good Thai place around the vicinity of where Jorge was going to be staying.

OK, since Jorge was going to be in late - we decided to just grab a quick meal anywhere and possibly get together in the next couple of evenings for a Thai dinner than trying to have Thai in the middle of the night! Ok, we drive around looking for a place and EVERYTHING is closed! Isn't this LA? Oh well,  we ended up at Saddle Ranch Chop House on Sunset Blvd.

Don't ask!
Bad food, mechanical bull and loud music!

Well, at least we were able to find food and it gave us a chance to chat a bit before I brought him over to  his buddy's house. I felt bad because of how bad this restaurant/bar was, that I told him, I would make sure to take him out tomorrow evening for Thai! It had been a long day and a long night...I am sleepy tired now!

So, here are the first photos of my meeting with my new travbuddy friend Jorge/George "hurch"!
