I cannot remember the exact dates in which I went to SLC. All I know is that I took a couple of days off of work and it took Gabby and I a whole 12 hours to get there! I put a lot of miles on my car. We were supposed to go with a group of friends on a bus, but things didn't work out so well with that bus. At the last minute, any method of transportation was cancelled and we didn't know what to do! I said, "F this! Let's take my car!" I was not going to loose out on one nights hotel cost because of other people. I went to Wals-Mart, got an oil change, bought some snow chains and said, LET'S GO! Well, I had to wait for my friend Gabby to get out of work first. So we couldn't leave just yet! We left at about 7 pm on a Thursday.
Well, I knew I had to take the 15 because on my way to Vegas some of the signs also give the miles to SLC.
We stayed at a hotel called Little America. This hotel was so beautiful! I loved it. The service was excellent and I highly recommend it. Also, it is very reasonable if you don't want to spend a lot on a hotel. I had no complaints. I was really excited when we finally got our room key because that meant I that much closer to actually getting to a bed! Walking back to my car, I saw snowpatches and I told my friend Gabby to look at all the snow, which wasn't a lot because it was really patches of snow here and there. But to me, it was a lot. I stepped on a patch and took a picture of my shoe print. Well, we got to the room and closed everything and went to sleep only to be woken up by our friend George calling us and telling us to meet him.
In the morning, which was Saturday, we woke up and I told her to get ready quickly so we could play in the snow! Well, she didn't really do that, but I did. I showered and dressed and was out there in a minute! Ok, maybe half an hour, forty five minutes tops! My car was covered in snow when I got out there. It was so pretty! I took a picture of it. I realized then that I had snow chains and didn't know how to put them on. And then it hit me that I was going to drive in the snow. So for me to never see snow to finally seeing it and having to drive in it, it was pretty much overwhelming! I started to remove the snow from my car with a window wiper that I carry when the couple in the room next to us came out.
We went to this all day convention but all that time, i just wanted to leave and go out and play in the snow! When we left at noon to go eat lunch it was snowing! I wanted to cry! That was the first time in my life that I has seen snow fall and actually experience it falling on me. It was a great feeling.
I bought a really great purse, and just enjoyed the mall itself. My friend slipped on the frozen ground and did the splits! I didn't dare laugh because then the same thing would happen to me! But it was really funny! The mall has small and large fire pits to warm yourself with.
That night we decided to go dancing to a club that was down the street from our hotel called Bliss. The decor at that club was very nice. They could have played different music styles instead of hip-hop and only that. I appreciate some 80's and alternative as well. On the walk back to the hotel room we had to be very carefull of not slipping and falling on that frozen ground. But you know, catching yourself from falling is just as hurtful and funny as actually falling! Which happened a few times to the both of us. And just so you know, the drinks in Utah are very watered down! Not by a little, but a lot!
Our last morning in Utah we took our time getting dressed and packing our things.
