It was a lazy day for all of us. We woke up at noon time and had a ridiculously late brunch (or just lunch for other people but w/o breakfast). Feeling more like pests rather than visitors, Phydie and I helped in cleaning Ryan's flat, clearing out the rubbish on the floor (Phydie's shoes and clothes), and making everything look nice, like how it was before we got there.
We left and drove somewhere only Ryan knows. He dropped by at some friend's place and dropped off something only Ryan knows. And then we left again and drove somewhere just outside Basel, up in the hills, through the forest, somewhere with a nice panoramic view of the city and I can't be bothered remembering the name of the place as I do not remember and I might just make it up but Ryan definitely knows what it is.
It was really nice up there, relaxed mood, calm and quiet, a great view of the city, endless number of trees with colorful leaves that goes all the way to the Black Forest (correct my geography, i am mostly wrong). Beautiful fall. Awww getting cheesy are we? We hopped back on the car and drove for a while, around 5 to 40 minutes, exact time forgotten. We stopped by at some restaurant in the middle of nowhere/forest, not to eat, but to climb up some dodgy tower up in a cliff.
The tower wasn't like an oh-my-golly-it's-eiffel-tower kind but climbing it gives you a very nice, nope fantastic or better yet spectacular, view of Basel's autumn landscape. It wasn't the fact that we had to pay to get up to the top that bothered me though, it was again the climbing.
We watched some very cheesy sunset. A very spectacular cheesy sunset. Just before it got dark we drove back to the city and stopped by at Ryan's relatives living a few blocks from him. They were all so nice but I feel so bad that their elevator won't fit four people at once. Seriously, it won't! We ate dinner there and Phydie and I had an opportunity to go to youtube and watch more of a filipino tv drama show not caring whose laptop it was and that crumbs from our chocolate cakes where flying all over the keyboard (blame the giggles). We didn't stay long and went back to Ryan's to finish watching the show.
