Keizersgracht

Today was the last day of the Grachtenfestival. There was Sunday shopping with most of the shops in town open, outlet shopping in one of the squares, and of course all the boats were still there. There was more live music on the floating podium, and lots of activities for kids.

One thing Reagan really loved were the Waterballs. Basically these were large plasic balls that you could crawl into through a hole, then they were filled with air, closed up and thrown into the water. So you could do all sorts of acrobatics in these balls on top of the water without getting wet! If it had been up to her we wouldn't have done or seen anything else... There was also treasure digging, with a great pile of sand in the main square with all sorts of little toys buried in it. Then the kids were let in and they could dig up a toy to take home. Great fun of course! Then there was the Pieremachochelwedstrijd, a competition in which kids could enter their home made boats/ships and other floating objects. Some of them were really well made, others just plain funny.

We ended the day (and weekend) with a dinner at Wok Plaza in Meppel.
