Took a short trip to Thailand's Krabi province to get away from work. First time in Thailand and a first time solo-traveler, so it was such an amazing experience! ;-)

First time in Thailand

Boat ride, gonna go island hopping! Woohoo!

First trip to Thailand. First time solo-traveler too! Of course I have the right to feel anxious (mix of excitement and fright? hehe exaggeration!)

Went to Krabi Privince in the south of Thailand. I stayed in Ao Nang, which was fantastic as it was easy access to most of the islands in the area. About 30-45mins boatride to the neighbouring islands (Tup Is, Chicken Is, Poda Is, etc) and about an hour to Phi Phi Islands.

I was there for 5 days, went solo so I had to go on tours and such.

First day, strolled around the area (beach, shops, restaurants etc) it rained for in the afternoon so the sea was not that calm. Great sunset though; crimson sky partly cloudy with a bit of breeze. Lovely!

Second day, went ISLAND HOPPING. I think we did 4-5 islands in one day which I later realised could be really exhausting! For the love of me I couldn't remember the order of the islands that we visited lol But I do know that we went to the other stretch of the beach first, Railay East and Railay West, where the Phranang Cave can be found. Went up the Viewpoint (in Railay East); our tour guide told me that I had good legs and feet coz I was able to climb up the viewpoint in just 8mins (apparently, normal climb rate is 20mins). The view was incredible; I was really amazed with what I saw from up there. Plus we went to the 3-Steps to the Lagoon. Didn't actually go to the Lagoon, but close enough to see what it looks like! Slips and tumbles plus a few minor bruises were all worth the climb! By the time I got back to the resort and had a decent shower, that's when I realised it has been a long tiring day.

But I'm gona say it again, it's all worth it!

Third day, bought another tour package - JUNGLE TRIP on the other side of Krabi. The drive from Ao Nang was about an hour or so. First visited the Hot Springs, I was told the water could get to about 40+ degrees C at most. I didn't get in as I had just about enough of getting into the water from the day before. My shoulders and arms got a little burnt (LITTLE??? lol) I didn't know I could still get darker than I already am LOL! Then went to the Crystal Pool, took some photos; didn't get in the water either coz there's just so many people in the pool when we got there. Then went to a Rubber Plantation, showed us how it was the process was done and whatnot. Did you know that rubber plantation is the 2nd main income of the Krabi people?

We then went to the Tiger Temple Cave; and the surrounding mini-temples/ pagodas. Encountered quite a few wild/untamed monkeys who tried to grab one of the tourists bag! Man they were scary! Cute but scary. Ssss!

Then I went for the elephant trekking. It was an experience though I felt bad for the elephants. They shouldn't be treated like that. Oh well, as long as they're being feed and taken care of properly(??). Oh and it rained halfway our trek! I thought it was funny, very jungly (if there's such a word lol) that I'm on an elephant, trekking the jungle and it was raining! All so very nature-y haha

Fourth and fifth day were just bum days. Walked around town again, got me some souvenirs and of course did some shopping. Couldn't help it; it's so friggin cheaper compared to prices in Dubai!

Oh well, now back in Dubai and back to work. Wish I was still there, sipping some cocktails watching the sunset.

Definitely worth visiting again in the near future.

Sound like a trip of a lifetime! Not to sure about the monkeys, though. I heard they can be really nasty when they don't get what they want
