Chicken..
Nayoung's birthday, so being the nice guy that I am (ha!) ..we went away for the weekend.
We decided on Chuncheon for a few reasons; Dakgalbi, Nami Island, and it's only 3 hours away from Donghae.
The bus ride took us through Yongpyeong.. The Winter Olympic hopeful.
Really looks like an olympic city.. oh my. So small... but anyway, good luck to them.
Upon arriving at the bus station in Chuncheon we basically wanted to head straight for dakgalbi gori for a look around and to find a room or something. A short taxi ride later and we were there. We looked up and down the streets for a little while to get our bearings. Downtown seems about the same size as Donghae's downtown, so not very big, kk.
Anyway, we did some window shopping and decided to try and get a room nearby, which turned out to be easy.
Not bad as well. Nice and big and the typical 40'000W motel fee. We had a short rest and freshened up and then took off for some exploration. Back out into the shops, then onwards for a look around. Underground arcades, snowcones, and dirty nightclubs later and we did an about face and headed for chicken.Chuncheon is famous for chicken. Dakgalbi.
It was our mission to sample the goods.
Dakgalbi Gori is pretty jam-packed with chicken places. Crazy. We found one busy, but not too crowded place and headed in. The obvious order of dakgalbi followed. It was slapped in front of us and fizzled away until ready.
Taste? Supreme. Nice and spicy, large portion... but expensive, kk.. 8000W per serving. We're used to paying 5500W per serve in Donghae :(
Anyways, that was nice and memorable and we left kinda bloated.
Staggered around the streets a little more looking at things before deciding that everyone had closed for the night and just tramped back to the motel to get a good nights rest for tomorrows adventure.
