Opéra de Paris Garnier locates at the Place de l'Opera, a square in the 9th arrondissement, just north of the 2nd arrondissement.

The next morning, I had a continental breakfast at the hotel and then headed out to get the Eurostar train ticket back to London. I walked along the Boulevard de Magenta to Gare du Nord station. Walking is one of the best ways to see the city and people...45 minutes later, I made my way to Gare du Nord and bought a one-way Eurostar ticket to London on Jan 29th.  The price for the one way ticket was pretty steep...1500F. Later, I learnt that it's better to get a return ticket in advance or sometimes through website or classified ads on newspaper. I remebered that I saw the list from the travel agency in London (₤99 for a return ticket from Waterloo-London Station to Gare du Nord-Paris). Anyway, I got my ticket. I then walked to the Opéra Quarter to check out the Opéra de Paris Garnier again.

Small alley where one of the scene of the movie "Ronin" taken place.
Then I took the Metro to Montmartre  which was considered to be the mecca for artists, writers, poets and their disciples by the end of 19th century. I walked through the small streets. I stopped at a small cafe to get a cup of coffee and quick bite...I really needed my caffeine at that point! Then I suddenly saw something that looked so familiar. That's where the movie "Ronin" had the shot of the bar at the corner of Rue Gabrielle. See, I have a photographic memory! :p

I continued walking towards the direction of Sacré-Coeur, which was built built in 1875-1914 by two Catholic businessmen  Alexandre Legentil and Rohault de Fleury.

Basilique du Sacré-Cœur
I walked through the stairway up to Place Du Parvis du Sacré-Coeur. From there, you will be able to see the spectacular views of the city. There's another way to go up to Sacré-Coeur from the bottom of the hill, by the funiculaire (cable railaway) at the end of Rue Foyatier.  I cruised around the area...passed by the Au Lapin AgileMusée de Montmartre (it provided living and studio space for numerous artists from 1875), Chapelle du Martyre, Place du Tertre (the square is the tourist center of Montmartre and is full of portraitists), Montmatre vineyard and at last, I popped in to the Espace Montmartre Salvador Dali. It's a permanent exhibition of 330 works of the Spanish painter and sculptor Salvador Dali. I really enjoyed his Surrealist work. By the time I finished browsing the museum, it was almost 5 p.m., I strolled down the hill and passed by the Moulin Rouge. I took the Metro back to the hotel and relax a little bit before I went out for dinner.

Having dinner in the restaurants of Paris was a challenge for me.

Place du Parvis du Sacré-Cœur
I tried to ask the waiter about the menu because I had no clue what was on the menu. Don't expect them to have an English version for tourists...sorry! They are so proud of their culture and language. Most of the waiters can't speak English well or don't bother to try at all, and I couldn't speak French. Maybe just a few words and that's it. What should I do? I just pointed my fingers blindly on the menu. Turned out that my order was salad and beef carpaccio! I had no luck at the restaurant that night...When I got into the bed, my stomach started to cry!
