resting at La Recoba - handicraft market
It was my first real day in Santa Cruz. I got up early, did some exercise and went for a cup of coffee at the restaurant. It was a huge buffet, but I didn’t want to eat much, besides it was almost time to leave.
We had a meeting, but weren’t sure about the second. We went back to the hotel. I got dressed with my “maternity” dress, as he called my confi dress and by the time I was thinking about going downtown, I got a call from another customer. So, time to work again and got dressed with formal clothes in a warm city, wow! We met these people and after taking care of business and having lunch at the hotel (of course I got dressed again, I was missing my confi dress), we were ready to do some sightseeing and know the city. I convinced my boss to go to downtown. We were staying in an area called Equipetrol, an upscale one. It was very nice.
the Cathedral
I could see it well just today. The day before it was dark, so it didn’t look so nice. But today it was different.
My customers/friends gave me some advises regarding what places to visit in Santa Cruz. We took a cab to downtown. First we went to an area called La Recoba in order to get some souvenirs. It’s a handicraft market. I found there my magnet and could appreciate the local art, which is similar to the Peruvian.
After that we went to the Main Square, just a couple of blocks away. There I saw the Cathedral, City Hall and other main buildings. The square has beautiful palms, really useful because it’s so sunny and hot there. Ufff. Actually there is not so much to do in Santa Cruz. I mean in the city itself. There are amazing things in the surroundings, especially if you are interested in the wild life and nature. Around 6pm we were ready to go back to the hotel.
I packed everything and we had dinner. I’m ready to leave Bolivia the next day early in order to go to Rio :)
