wow, time to pack...

ok, the last day was here. I was tired and wanted to sleep as much as possible the night before, so I didn't ask for any wake up call and slept until my body said: Get up! I took a really nice shower and started packing. I was just for 1 day in Maracaibo, so packing shouldn't have been hard, but I had not only my stuff. Blair gave me all the souvenirs and things he has been buying while we were travelling. I remember that when we left Lima and he saw my big bag he was making fun that the smallest person had the biggest bag.

I managed to pack everything and decided to go downstairs for the breakfast. Usually I just had some fruit for breakfast in the different hotels I have been staying.

But this one was the last one, so I decided to forget about the diet, at least for this time. The breakfast was really good and they served the arepas and patacones. I had my coffee and arepas - I have been dreaming about them since I left Lima, hahaha. The arepas and patacones are local. Arepas are like a pasty - the one I had was stuffed with cheese - and the patacones are mashed plantains fried with a bit of pork - they remind me the "tacachos" from the rainforest in Peru.

I was feeling a bit guilty after the breakfast, so I decided to climb the stairs - 11 floors, hahaha. People might thought I was crazy, hahaha. Anyway, I was just relaxing when Blair called me. He was ready to have breakfast. I went with him downstairs again. While I was there I asked for the check out and also for a taxi to drive us to the airport.

One of the guys helped me with my suitcases and we were ready to leave.

The taxi driver was a nice guy. We were talking the whole drive to the airport and he was telling me a bit about Zulia, the state. They are not happy with the goverment and want to become independient. Mmm. I noticed there are a lot of taxis and buses, but also old big cars that are used as shared cabs. They called them "colectivos".  We arrived to the airport on time. We checked in, left our bags and decided to go to a cafeteria and have something to drink. While we were there, Blair noticed he had something in his pocket. And it was... the remote control from the TV, hahaha. An accidental robbery, hahaha. We had to pay taxes, but the cashier wasn't working yet, so we went to buy some souvenirs.

By the time she finally started working, people was getting crazy. Our flight was leaving at 2pm. We had to start boarding at 1 and by 1:20pm we were still doing the line. Well, the plane couldn't leave all the people there, hahaha. I realized why it was pointless doing it earlier. Mmm, security was easy and there were no seats in the gate, so it might have been really unconfortable have been waiting there, hahaha. Everything has an explanation, hahaha

Lima is closer now...
