Segunda or Monday… Time to work :P
Well, my fun weekend was over and it was time to work. Work in
Anyway I was here because of work. I woke up early. We were staying in Ipanema and had a meeting in Barra de Tijuca at 9. So we took a cab in order to go there. It isn’t far away, but it was a workday and early in the morning. So, everybody was going to work and there was some traffic.
Well, this gave me the perfect opportunity for taking some pictures of the city. I like how the nature is present in the city.
You can see big buildings in the middle of beautiful scenery. Roads crossing mountains, surrounded by great vegetation. In our way from Ipanema to Tijuca, I was able to see how the neighborhoods changed. We passed in front of some favelas, including the Rosinha, which is the oldest one.
By the way, the favelas are the poor neighborhoods. It’s not recommended for a tourist going by his own there, not even for the locals. But if you are invited by a member of the favelas, the people will welcome you there. Just if you are seen as an intruder, you’d have problems.
We had our meeting and set up another meeting for next day, but in Macae. We were back in the hotel around noon. So we had lunch – not another Churrasqueria, hahaha!!! At 3pm we had another meeting in other part of the city. This time was in Botafogo, which was closer to Ipanema. Botafogo is an older area, more commercial.
Finally, we were back and free around 5:30pm. Because I haven’t been able to do any exercise during the day, I decided to take a long walk. What can be better than walk in Ipanema and Copacabana? I got dressed with comfortable clothing and shoes and started walking in front of the beaches.
I was back at 7pm and met Blair. He was thinking about getting dinner, but before that we had to go and find a repellent. The next day we were going to Macae and there were mosquitoes, so better be ready. We had Japanese for dinner and I went to sleep early. The next day will be a loooooong one. In order to arrive to Macae from Rio, you have to drive 3 1/2 hours. Thank God, I wouldn't do it ;)
