Glutton for punishment!!!
OK…and away we go…….
Waking up after only getting about 3-4 hours of sleep was surprisingly easy! Java…need java… WTF??? No hangover whoo-hoo! Threw on the hiking pants, boots, tank top, fleece and baseball cap! Brushed my teeth and was ready to go! Wait! Need Java, did I say that already?
James, Jillian, Harriet and I hit the Starbucks in the Red Rock. Large Vanilla Latte please! DON’T TALK TO ME UNTIL I'VE HAD MY JAVA!!! Just kidding. Needed that jolt of caffeine to get my butt ready for the hike with my fellow Travbuddies.
The four of us piled into James’ convertible and headed out to Red Rock! Wow…beautiful! Have never been here before. Never really knew it existed prior to hearing about the Hotel. We caught up with Melanie and her crew (Jen, Tracy, & Matt), Sal (sincitytraveler), RJ (rj1982ster) and John (jpchoi) we decided to hit an area where there was a waterfall.

As we all got in to our cars we decided we’d do our own thing until the meet-up @ 5pm at the Three Angry Wives Pub! So, Harriet, Jillian, James and I headed back into town and ate at Chili’s. We figured it would be quicker than going to the strip! We were wrong! It took a little over 40 minutes to get our food to the table! Not good with a bunch of hungry, sleepy, tired and still a little inebriated hikers! We finished our food quickly so that we could have some time to rest at the hotel before another long night partying!
By the time we reached the hotel, it was already 4:00pm…two girls, one bathroom • anything wrong with that situation? Could have potentially been a bad situation…but thank goodness Jillian and I are compatible to travel together, that we managed to do “our” thing without running into each other!
James arrived at our room a little earlier than we expected.
Poor James, felt bad that he had to watch Jillian and I blow dry our hair, curl/straighten our hair, put on our make-up and he and Jillian were the judge and jury to my final outfit. 5:30pm • we needed to get out of the hotel quickly, because the meet-up was going on already…a quick call to Harriet who met us downstairs and we were off!
15-20 minutes later we pulled in to the parking lot of the Three Angry Wives Pub and the first person we notice is Melanie of course! The hostess with the mostess! We all made our rounds of hello to everyone (the crew from earlier in the day) and to the new travbuddies… I met Nancy (fancynancy), Sven (svenman99), Kaycee (kayceedawn) and Melissa (Melissa919). Everyone was so nice and welcoming that again I had a great time. This is an understatement - everyone was and is GREAT!!! New found friends! LOVE it!

During the meet-up Melanie passed the infamous “pink shirt” around to be signed by each travbuddy with their profile name and real name, as well as “good-bye/miss you” cards for John and Will. We all took our turns and then when everyone finished signing the pink shirt the ceremony for the most “furthest traveled” travbuddy award began! Sven is the one to win this honor! Coming all the way from Germany to attend our meet-up! Melanie was the presenter of the infamous award and Sven was such a trooper to accommodate our cracked sense of humor…he put on the shirt and wore it proudly through the entire evening! What a guy!
There was also the knighting of James by Melanie • didn’t really know what that was all about, it must have been something from the first Vegas Meet-up that I wasn’t able to make…oh well, maybe one day I’ll find out what the “knighting” was all about! Also to all the fellow travubuddies that asked me to have a drink for them while I was at this meet-up...check out the photos! I did have a drink for all of you! :)
Many, many photos later and some drinks later we headed back to the Red Rock Hotel and there was more drinking, dancing and fun that occurred - I believe I slept at 4am or then some. In the end, it ended at:

Thanks for a total of 6 hours of sleep for the entire weekend, thanks for bruises on my knees from hiking, jumping in and out of James convertible without using the door or was it from the walls running into me? (those damn curved hallways), thanks for helping me pickle my liver and most of all thanks for your friendship!!! Can't wait till we meet again!
