The Glacier is WOWOW! factor

cruising up to Hubbard Glacier

Today we are just cruising. Into the Hubbard Glacier. On the way a couple of local Indians are picked up and come on board to tell the story of the area and thier tribe.  The ship gets closer to the face of the glacier. Everything is so calm. Then you hear the noise like thunder as the ice is 'calving'.  Then the ship starts rotating. There were some passengers lucky enough to have balconies to sit on so they just waited til the ship turned and then they got their view.  We were the only ship there at the time. Not much I can say. It is mesmerising. The cruise ship just got closer & closer. Could have stayed there all day! 

As we were leaving the area another cruise ship was heading in.  I want to do this again!
