Well I finally got my husband to go overseas. He was hooked the first day. Vancouver, Alaskan cruise, ending in Los Angeles. Hubby also got to drive a Mustang convertable while in Canada and a brand new Harley in Los Angeles.

Boarding

Settling into our cabin before we set sail.

Well this morning is bitter sweet. Sad to be leaving Vancouver but happy about the next part of our adventure. The morning is sort of wasted, and we had lunch at the hotel before getting in a taxi to take us to Canada Place.  Obviously the taxi driver knew where he had to drop us off with our luggage. We left our luggage and then had to  find our way to the check in area for us.  We got lost but eventually some one showed us the way.  Of course then there were more queues! Then customs. Once on board we checked out our cabin.  Basic but nice. Clean and comfortable.  This afternoon was just finding our way around. Of course there was also the safety drill.  We went to the main dining room at the allocated time and went to the allocated table and met the other 2 couples who were seated at our table.  They were nice. They had been on a cruise before. We were virgins. :-) Everything was nice. The wait staff were brilliant!

After dinner we went to one of the lounge areas with one of the couples from our table and we had a few drinks. All in all, a good day/evening and the start of the next part of our adventure. Alaska, here we come!

Affordable, relaxing and ejoyable
Well I wasn't too sure where to put this review as it is accommodation but mixes sights and attractions.
We boarded the "Summit" in Vancouver and left on our 14 night cruise.
We were going to take one of the 7 or 10 night cruises but then found out that this ship was doing a relocation cruise. That meant that as it was the last Alaskan cruise for the season, instead of leaving and returning to Vancouver, it left Vancouver and ended in LA!
Although we disembarked in LA, the Summit started it's next season of cruising from LA to the Mexican riviera. Some people were staying on to do that one too!.
We found the staff great. There was lots of entertainment on board and too much food.
Of course there is also a booking desk on board so that on shore tours can be arranged if wanted. The staff there was helpful.
Athough we would have liked to spend more time in some places, that is what it is all about. We saw a bit of a number of places which was enough to wet our appetite enough to want to return one day and explore.
If we hadn't gone on that cruise we would not have seen some of the sights that we did.
We both had our birthdays while on the ship and we had a birthday cake and had Happy Birthday sung to us by the wait staff.
On that cruise we made friends with staff who treated us like family.
A great time was had by all!
