we walked 2km to get to the pyramids in the distance.

we arrived in Mexico city today after a long bus trip from oaxaca. on arrival to the city the driver pulled over and told us to buckle up (nothing out of the ordinary) and to lock all the doors, and put up all the windows (a little bit different!) He told us not to go out at night if we can help it, to take off all our jewellery and not to carry alot of money on us for WHEN we get robbed!!

we booked a tour to Teotijuacan, a gargantuan ruin just outside the city. it just goes on and on and it is only 10% uncovered. I climbed the pyramid of the sun... the biggest one. it took about 20 minutes cause it is all steps about 40cm high and very steep. but well worth it.

just arrived into Cuzco, Peru, today. getting used t o the altitude this morning and then exploring the city this arvo. there is a tea called coca that helps with the headaches and sickness. I have had 3 cups now and just starting to feel a bit better... still shakey.

we head to Machu Pichu in the morning. have a tour around for a few hours, then we stay at the base for the night so we can go back up at sunrise. cant wait!!
