Horray for a new town!

San Cristobal de Las Casas Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

After graduating from college, we chose the obvious path of a one way plane ticket to mexico. Our only plan is to make one as we go.

Horray for a new town!

Well, we have finally forced ourselves to leave paradise. We said our goodbyes to the friends we had made, had one last dip in the beautiful ocean at Playa Carazilillo and a nice farewell meal at the always tip top Bendito`s.  After a fairly miserable 13 hour bus ride through the mountains, we walked off the bus and found ourselves in a very different climate. I can see my breath. I am not happy about it. Fortunately, the city is beautiful enough to make up for its chilly and rainy weather.  Our hostel is happening and luckily filled with people from the Mayflower, as well as a number of folks who know how to play euchre.  So while it is cold and rainy (it even hailed today!!!) there is much to do to pass the time during the afternoon storms.  The city is similar to Oaxaca, but with more people, plazas, cafes, and bookstores.  Much remains to be seen, and by golly, we are just the people to see it.  Up and atom!
