I think this photo really sums katie and I to a tee. I am a gleeming happy ray of sunshine. Katie is a day old bucket of mop water.

We have now arrived at our first destination, the beautiful island of Isla Mujeres.  Our plane left Detroit around 7:30 for Cancun, which we stomached for about 5 minutes before leaving Puerto Juarez for a 25 minutes ferry to the Island of Women.  The Poc-Na hostel was just a short walk from the dock, which was welcome considering the size of our bags and the amount of sleep we were working on.  We heard that the Poc-na was ¨the¨place to stay, and i´d say that i would agree with that after spending 4 nights there. It was really easy to meet people. The beach bar opens up every night at 11pm and it seems like people from all over the island come to party there. The later it gets, the rowdier the party becomes. During the day, we mostly just hung out at the beach, which was beautiful. The island itself was extremely laid back and relaxing.  No one was ever in a hurry, and the businesses opened whenever the owner felt like opening it. A watch felt about as useful as a snowsuit, we quickly learned to operate on island time.

Dave says:
I love the line "a watch felt as useful as a snowsuit." If only life were like that more often.
