Travel from Cuzco to Puno on Christmas Day

So I've decided to spend 5 months travelling in South America starting in Quito in late September and ending up in Buenos Aires in late February 07. How will it go? What will happen in between? I don't yet know, but you're all invited to find out..

Travel from Cuzco to Puno on Christmas Day

Suffice to say that the copious amount of alcohol consumed on Christmas Eve meant that this was a pretty awful bus journey, and the main good thing about my Christmas was that gradually I felt less terrible as the day went on.  The bus itself wasn´t even a nice one - no toilet is never a good sign if you feel like you might just be sick at any moment - or a quick one!  And it was surprisingly full of locals (full as in no space in the aisle etc) who didn´t seem to recognise that it was Christmas Day other than one woman who entered the bus and started to hack up a cooked turkey in the aisle right next to us, and then sell it in bits and pieces.  How pleasant!

The day did end well with a nice traditional Christmas dinner, although minus any alcohol for me!!
