So I've decided to spend 5 months travelling in South America starting in Quito in late September and ending up in Buenos Aires in late February 07. How will it go? What will happen in between? I don't yet know, but you're all invited to find out..

The small monastery with pleasant gardens

Heresy to say it I know, but I actually found the north of Argentina a little bit boring!

Admittedly I wasn't in Tafi del Valle for very long, a perfectly pleasant village. And sometimes in my bid to fill in time I did stupid things like go and see a small monastery. Given that I am not the least bit interested in seeing another bishop's outfit, or praying room, or generally old furniture, AND given that I dislike religion and in particular the Catholic influence in South America, such mistaken visits must be avoided in future!

Apart from the monastery there was a good steak house with a live band playing something other than insipid 'typical'-Andean-style music, and a walk which ended in a large cross and views over the entire area.
