Mount Washington Alpine Resort

The anticipation of skiing on an actual mountain and not just a hill from Ontario excited me but at the same time made me nervous. I was wondering if the bunny hills at Mount Washington would be more like black diamond hills in Ontario.

Well we arrived and yeah, my hunch was right on. The hills there including the 'bunnyhill' didn't seem like no gentle bunnyhill. But I couldn't let my feelings show to my sister for this was her first time trying out skies and I knew she depended on my confidence to give her the immediate courage to take to the hills.

Staff there did give us all the rental ski equipment needed and happily changed the ski boots if they were to small ... it was now off to the hills!

My sister used me as a support and once again I fell down not anticipating this ... we laughed in the 'fall' we took ... I guess we felt a sister bond on the hills ... I was impressed she did very well only falling 7 times for the whole day ...

My nephew wanted me on the Yellow Diamond hills at night ... so we started off on the easy hill then graduated to the yellow hill ... he felt he could do and I was again nervous but hid it from him ... then realized he needed me to guide him down the hill ... when earlier he gave me the impression he was a professional ... not saying anything I brought US down slowly and he now can proudly say he has skied on yellow diamond hills ... for that I am happy ... Practice will allow him and I to increase our speed down these steep hills, including the bunnyhills, of Mount Washington Ski Resort ...
