Return Home from Okinawa

Chesapeake Travel Blog › entry 28 of 28 › view trip summary

In March 08 I had to go to Yokosuka on business, but the trip also afforded opportunities to visit Tokyo and join Jenny for leave in Jenny's birthplace--Okinawa. My objective in Tokyo was to ride the biggest Ferris Wheel in the city (Japanese: 展覧車 (tenransha) or 大観覧車 (daikanransha) or (kanransh) at Kasai Rinkai Park. Our time in Okinawa was magical, with good weather, beautiful scenery/sunsets/beaches, and reunions with many friends from our time stationed there 2003-05.

Return Home from Okinawa

Back at home working off the jet lag.  Having to be at work on Friday by 0800 local time...just 12 hours after landing from Okinawa via Tokyo, Chicago and Norfolk.  Good thing I chose the business class upgrade to get some sleep!  :-)

Yeah, if my body doesn't want to sleep it won't lol. I've tried actual sleeping pills before.. no chance... so yeah, poor Jenny.

Actually, I made it to work around 0800 Friday and stayed up until 0100 Saturday. Melatonin and Vitamin B6 with 2 Tylenol PMs to keep me asleep when I finally do crash....works like a charm for me, but unfortunately not for Jenny.
