Spent a lot of today doing homework, fiddling with the computer and reading.  Played a couple of hands of cards with Mariana.  Checked emails on the school’s puter, but I’ve got so used to this puter that I found the other unfamiliar and slower to use; it has a dial-up connection.  Mauricio and family have arrived safely in Colombia and Leonie and Tony’s house has been sold.

This evening there was the Ecuadorian version of Dancing with the Stars on TV.  The minimum score by a judge for a really bad act was 6 and the maximum for a great act, 8, so pretty boring scoring.  (No more "Mr Nice Guy" in Australia, but still very much alive in Ecuador)The Australian version is, not surprisingly, rather more professional.  Maria Jose learns dancing and she knew some of the people who were dancing with the stars, so that was interesting.

Today’s totally trivial trivia:  There are hardly any flies here, in fact haven’t noticed them in S.A. at all.  You can leave the windows and doors open and no flying insects intrude.  It doesn’t sound important, but in Oz I’m always rushing to shut doors to keep them out and now I’ve got used to not having them around.
