I get up at 7 am to watch F1 qualifying on cable. Mark Webber is number 8 on the grid. After that I go back to bed and sleep for a couple of hours.
At 12 we all go, with Marcela’s mother, Marta, to Marcela’s sister’s (Adriana) home. Adriana is an architect and her husband, Juan, a businessman. Five of Mauricio’s siblings, together with their spouses and children all arrive over the next hour or so. There are also some mothers and/or fathers……I lost track of who was related to who.
We spent a very pleasant lunch/ afternoon/early evening at the home, which is on the twelfth floor of an apartment block overlooking Medellin.
The day includes wine, sangria, paella, dessert, music and dancing (not for my knee). The home is very large for an apartment, immaculate (you can even see walk in wardrobes and children’s rooms, that are completely tidy) and very tastefully decorated, as you might expect from an architect. There is a live-in helper, which would obviously make life a lot easier when it comes to having an immaculate home.
Afterwards we took Marta home and then went back to Marcela and Mauricio’s home. I had trouble with the hot water last night, so Mauricio gives me a lesson on which taps to turn on when. Unfortunately tonight I have a bigger problem and end up getting no hot water. Obviously I require further tuition on the subject.
