Lessons during the morning as usual. Discussion at lunchtime re whether I want to visit Cotopaxi, very high mountain, and/or Otavalo, very popular market. Both are 1½ to 2 hours away by bus.
Went back to FRiDAY’S for the wifi. Limit on atm bank withdrawals appears to be USD300 per day, or perhaps only at the banks that I tried. I got a fright when I thought that someone else had been drawing money from my account; had tried to get USD340 but atm came back with the message, exceeded withdrawal limit for the day.
Don’t know where you get eyelashes and eyebrows tinted darker. Not a lot of demand for that in Ecuador.
Hayley cooked dinner tonight and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in S.A, perhaps partly because it’s so long since I’ve had a roast. It was excellent, roast chicken and veggies with gravy, broccoli and cauliflower. Afterwards Mariana and I played cards for about three hours, but without too much concentration. A game called Arriba. Hayley and Fran played solitaire for two; not sure how that’s solitaire.
The weather here is quite cool and often I wear long sleeves all day. I’m just about on the equator, literally, so for some reason thought that the weather should be hot. However the nights here are not cold; I will never forget the freezing cold nights in Cusco and on the Salar in Bolivia.
