Waynesville, OH Shopping and Lunch
September 2, 2006
Since it continued to rain, we canceled our plans to go hiking in the park. We made breakfast, scrambled eggs and bacon, cleaned up the campsite and headed to the nearby town of Waynesville.
Waynesville is a very nice little town of about 2000 people and is well known for it's main street of antiques and specialty shops. We had fun just window shopping and watching all the people. One store we did decide to go into wasn't even open for business yet. It was an authentic handmade native Indian store. The owner was very gracious and allowed us to come in and look around. He has some very nice and unique items for sale. He said he only takes a small percentage of the price and the rest goes back to the person who created the item. Other people started to file in, I think he was a little overwhelmed that so many people started to come in. He will do very well with this store.
It was getting to be lunch time and we picked Paolo's Gourmet Cafe to eat in. See the review below.
After our wonderful lunch, we left Waynesville and headed to Lebanon, OH to do some grocery shopping.

Paolo's is a brick oven Italian cafe. They serve pizza, calzones, stromboli and other sandwiches. They also have gourmet ice cream, pastries, cookies, biscotti, coffee, espresso, cappuccino, latte, tea and many flavors of frozen coffee, tea and shakes.
I had the Paolo stramboli and Emilia had the Paolo calzone. Very large portions and great taste. Highly recommend stopping by if you are ever in Waynesville, OH to do some shopping.
The atmosphere was very nice, the staff obviously enjoy their jobs and made it a very pleasant experience for us. We got some cappucino ice cream on the way out.
Will definitely go back there and try some of the other items on the menu.
