Two movies were shot in Lebanon, Milk Money and Harper Valley, PTA. Famous residents include Woody Harrelson, and Neil Armstrong (born in my hometown of Wapakoneta) has lived there since 1971.
We went down to the railroad station and looked at the train there. Though they proudly state that the train runs "Every Weekend", it was not, in fact, running this weekend, much to the disappointment of several children we say nearby. We strolled over to a restored gas station and went shopping inside the old Shoe Factory, now an antique store.
One thing we noticed about Lebanon is the many, many, many (did I say many?) ice cream places around this town! Guess they like ice cream there.
Headed to the grocery store to get supplies for the weekend. It started to rain again and we headed back to the campsite.
Built a fire to cook the steaks we bought, the rain made it very difficult to cook them the way we wanted them to. We ended up settling for medium rare. The mashed potatoes eventually heated up (note: no need to waste 20 minutes to try and boil water when the directions didn't even call for it). It was an edible meal and we laughed at our attempt of cooking.
It started to clear up and we were starting to make some s'mores when our neighbors came over and gave us an extension cord a a light to help see. This was very nice and unexpected of them, we thanked them for their generosity and had a great night just sitting by the fire. Went to bed around 12:30am, it was very cold and damp from the rain, but we managed to keep warm.
