Adventures in CDO

This holiday will not be made possible without the following people and i would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude:

Larong for the accomodation, for making sure my planned itinerary is fulfilled and for the laughter

Marlon, Boss Ñor and Tan for the transport service and the rafting pictorial package

Day 1 - November 29 thursday

Took a jeepney to Pier 4 to save money. I should say that Pier 4 is a lot safer than i expected it to be compared to Pier 1-3. The Aboitiz Terminal also has a much better security than Mactan airport. There was a digital camera that took our pictures, an x-ray machine, a metal detector and sniffing dogs. Cathy advised me to take the tourist but economy is cheaper. Economy section means that the room is not airconditioned and people can bring along anything even chickens. You can just imagine the noise brought by the roosters early in the morning.

Day 2 - November 30 friday

CebuFerries arrived 2 hours late than the promised 6 AM arrival. There were badjaos rowing in their small boats urging people to throw some coins to them. Liezl met me and we went straight to her mansion in Mabulay via the tricycle, changed our jeans to shorts and then went to Divisoria where the Rafting Jeepney service is waiting for us.

Rafting is scary the first time. Liezl just told me to make sure i dont fell over so that she wont have to dive after me. Charoot!! After rafting, liezl went back to shell depot to work while i explored the place on foot (to save money and to avoid getting lost). I went to find the nearest internet cafe to upload a couple of pictures, went to divisoria where it becomes a night cafe on Friday and Saturday night with live band, lots of barbecues being sold out and ukay-ukay. Ukay-Ukay are second-hand imported goods. I dont have problems with Ukay-ukay just as long as they are in good condition and very cheap. But the prices for shirts being sold there is around 200 pesos which i find very ridiculous. I would rather buy a brand new shirt items on sale for that price. Liezl and I eat dinner along with her two co-workers at shell.

Day 3 - December 1 Saturday

Went to Lim Kit Kai Mall to eat our lunch, ride a jeepney going to the Crossing of Malasag in Cugman area and then Habal-Habal. Habal-Habal is just a motorycle where the driver accepts passengers to take them to where they wanted. In our case, its the Garden of Malasag Eco-Tourism Village. Malasag has a lovely view of the Macajalar Bay. Liezl and I went there for picture taking and to try their swimming pool. Entrance fee of Malasag is 30 pesos and swimming pool is 50 pesos. At night, we went to checkpoint. I love checkpoint because the live band is good and its a non-smoking bar.

Day 4 - December 2 Sunday

We went to the Macahambus Gorge and Cave. I wanted to try the skybridge and the zipline. Both Liezl and I are scared of heights so we walked very slowly along the skybridge. Zipline is an exhilirating experience. After the Macahambus adventure, we went to the cave and as always, did some picture taking. Then i packed my things and we went to Lim Kit Kai to eat our dinner and try their cinemas. We watched beawulf and the rate of their cinema is 50 pesos for deluxe and 60 pesos for the balcony. Talk about cheap. It is twice more expensive in cebu. Afterwards, we went to pier and its goodbye time to larong. I have problems with saying goodbye just as much as being left behind so we just play it cool. ahehehe. This time, i have a tourist accomodation at SuperFerry. Tourist is an airconditioned room with free bedsheet and pillowcase and absolutely no chicken.

Day 5- December 3 Monday

SuperFerry arrived on Time at CIP near SM. Walked to SM terminal and rode a jeepney. Its home sweet home for me and i'm a pauper again. WEEEE.. Going back to work on December 4 and try to save money again for my next trip.....
