Penang: food heaven!

Penang is an intruiging island just off the Malaysian pennisula, opposite a town called Butterworth. We took a ferry across from Butterworth; us, some other people and maybe twenty cars! The ferry takes vehicles over too, although there is a bridge these days if you happen to think boats and cars don't gel!
Walking the little back streets of Penang was a fascinating insight to this little corner of Malaysia. I don't know much about the history here but there but there seem to be a great deal of tell-tale signs of past colonization - from street names, to architecture, and what-not.
If you don't come to Penang for walking then you should definately come here to fill your stomach! We had an awesome dinner at a proper Chinese restaurant - we thought maybe we'd treat ourselves since we were on the last few days of our journey, but the meal ended up being a lot cheaper than expected... and it was excellent! Can't remember the name but its sort of on one of the main streets there... near a 'Bodyglove' clothing shop, I think. Then we got some icecream and walked around a bit more.
