'Today was an early start as we had to catch the 'Baz Bus'at 8am. This took us from Jo'Burg right into Winterton after some stops to drop off other travelllers at Harrismith and The Ampitheathre. Pretty much slept mostof the way cause i was so tired.
On arriving at Winterton, in the blistering heat, we were a bit stuck because we had no idea where the guy who was supposed to be picking us up was. After a few phone calls in was sorted and the first thing that Ashley made us do was buy alcohol for the pool party we were going to that night! Jack Daniel's is a tenner a bottle! Its 18 back home.
We weer taken back to the Spion Kop Lodge to meet Lynette...had some lunch and then were told that we could help set th line markings for the South African Cycle race taking place through the lodge on Sunday. So Whitey and I jumped in the back of the pick - up, stood and got blown away travelling through the farm. We poured lime onto the ground to mark out the course.
When finished, we were taken to the farm where we would be staying. It's called Psalm. We were told they were religious...but psalm? Anyway the owners of the house weren't there....we still havent met them as they are at a wedding, but Ed (the guy looking after the farm) helped us a lot.
Shortly, Ash picked us up to take us to the party with all his friends...mostly about 24. It was fun...and we met his Durham born Girlfriend Sarah. It turns out Ash, or 'Pig' as he is known is a legend. He got wasted on Cane....a strong vodka and drove his range home!! Its normal here.....ÁSH TONGUE KISSED FOSSILs MUM!!!' The journey home was eventful as we basically span off the track! Boss.
That night we stayed at Lynette's family home and it was amazing! was a good day....
