This morning we all woke up completely refreshed and wide awake. After packing, and frantically searching high and low for Whitey's 'lost' wallet, which turned out to be under his bag, we left and packed the car. The Irishmen the day before had reccomended to Andy that we drive back up along the Bay Of Plenty, which seemed quite a good idea, so with no maps and White as navigator we set off. We didnt do very well. After about an hour and a half of driving through the New Zealand countryside we arrived an Tauranga Marina, which was very nice and had a lovely view of some weird mountain in the sea, but was not what we were looking for.

By this time i was fed up of driving, after which ended up just being one big 'long cut' and so we decided to give up and being the 2 and a half hour drive back to Auckland. It turned out to be quite difficult in parts but really beautiful. We saw some fantastic views being down in valleys between 2 sheer cliff faces and winding through mountain ranges and alongside rivers.

Eventually we got back to the hostel where we dropped off the bags and Michaela and Whitey and i went to drop off the hire car. We filled up with petrol and then walked back in the drizzle along Queen street to the ACB. We picked up the bags we left in storage and then settled in to our new, bigger room.

After washing our sulphur smelling clothes, we headed out to get some food. Back at the kitchen, i realised that while i was away somebody had decided to help themselves and almost finish my clearly labelled Top Deck ice cream....i was not happy! After dinner i relaxed in the room listening to music and then had quite a lengthy chat to Mikay about a lot of things including how amaxing it would be to spend three months backin Melbourne with our own flat. Speaking of which, i think Andy has finally decided he wont be able to come back.....

After the talk, i went upstairs to eat some more of my new Cookies n Cream ice cream and AGAIN i found that somebody had helped themselves....I had only left it for 5 minutes!!! This is war!!!!!!

Tonight should be another early night after Aunty Suey calls with my bank balance as we are getting up to go on the free Auckland Day Trip tomorrow and then going on a bar cruise tomorrow night...

New pictures from the last few days are now on Facebook in the New Zealand 1 album...
