This morning we had a little lie in and then got up and got ready to go into the city. We caught the train at around 10am and the plan was to go to Macquarie's point to watch the fireworks but when we got to Circular Quay we found a great spot just in front of the OPera Houe with views of all the firewokrs so sat there from around 2pm. That meant we had 10 hours of sitting on concrete waiting for New Year to come so we had to amuse ourselves. Michaela went and did some shopping, Whitey and i played cricket with Michaela's umbrella, which we bent but she doesnt know yet, the Michaela and i went shopping for an Ashes t shirt, Whitey and I played Nut ball, some weird bouncey ball game and cricket bat tennis. We met two older people next to us, Emma and Dave who helped us scare off the weird Asians who kept trying to creep into our spot. At around half seven, Fiona, Ruth, Marissa and Angela arrived a little drunk from their Vineyard trip so we were entertained a little more by Marissa's jokes. She's hilarious. whitey and i also had some drinks. Alcohol was banned in this part but we decantered some Jack and coke into a big coke bottle like true alcoholics. I didnt have much though as am still feeling a little ill. At 9pm the first set of fireworks, the family fireworks, were set off and they were incredibly impressive! We had great views of them all, over the bridge and the opera house. After they finished all the children went home and we wait until midnight....
