Somewhere between here and there...
August 25, 2006
China Airlines is a Delta partner and a wonderful way to fly. Our seats
were comfortable and the food was actually very good. The flight
attendants all looked like little China Dolls with uniforms that were
color coordinated with the upholstery on the plane. The service was
impeccable. We arrived in Taiwan a mere 13 hours later. We had a 4 hour
lay over before boarding the next flight to Bangkok. The second leg of
our journey was unbelievably comfortable. We were seated on the top
level of a new 747! We had reclining seats, a great lunch that included
wine, and individual TV monitors for watching movies or playing video
games. And again, we were graciously served by demure, smiling China
Dolls in crisp purple and blue uniforms, the colors of China Air, I
guess.
A note from Chuck: if at all possible, avoid any layover in Tapei. It's like being in Satre's No Return. There is nothing to do and no where to eat. (in other words: no bars)
