traveling & finance = ?

... a great idea!
as i'm currently trying to find out what the weather will be like on my journey (to find the efficient frontier of my clothes / travel gear portfolio) i decided to use my finance background.
what do we do with risks? right, we hedge them away. my soon-to-be patented plan is to buy weather derivatives in all my destinations to hedge my exposure to bad weather (and thereby insufficient clothing). so even if there is bad weather, i would would gain on the financial side - which will either make me happy by itself or at least allows me to buy some more clothes. if the weather is fine and i lose the 'insurance' premium - who cares, great weather, i wont be complaining!
ha, i KNEW studying economics would be worth it!
