to conquer the world you have to experience it first

tomb raiding

having 2 days of intense temple climbing in my knees i've seen it all and probably had enough temples for the rest of my life :)

the angkor wat area is huge! on the first full day i did the big circuit and the next day i visited the more remote temples. as clearly visible on the pictures, it's a lot of temples for 2.5 days and everything starts to look the same pretty quickly :)

the pyramid like temples can be climbed and it's great fun... no safety stuff around though and the steps are very steep, small and half destroyed already... i wonder how many tourists break their necks each year.

phnom bakheng (sp?) is an amazing hill lookout spot for sunset even though it gets a bit crowded up there

nothing beats the angkor wat temple itself though... it's so beautiful

ta prohm is fun, it's the temple they used in the tomb raider movie and those big tree-roots all over the walls are quite impressive.

but at the end of the second day i was happy to leave the temples behind.. just too repetitive and exhausting to walk around in the terrible sun & heat.
