props to don king for inspiring this blog entry title, it sums up the experience of departing manila international airport terminal 1 quite well

time to say good bye again after 16 days with chona, once again a roller coaster ride :)

of course, the cab driver to the airport was an idiot with a tweaked taximeter, but i was no longer surprised.

of course, you cannot enter the international (!) airport without a printout of your e-ticket (a world first?), i was no longer surprised.

of course, after another security check and issues finding the jetstar (actually swissport) office they are unable to understand your problem and can't print out a confirmation, i was no longer surprised (was solved by letting me printout the confirmation from my gmail account... )

of course, 30 minutes queueing to even get inside the airport, i was no longer surprised.

of course, 45 minutes queueing at the understaffed immigration checkpoint while demanding 750 php departure fee, i was no longer surprised.

etc, etc.

i arrived 2.5h before departure time at the airport and was at the boarding gate 5 minutes before departure. i blame myself for not printing out my receipt (note to anyone flying out of manila... ) - especially after finding my return itinerary print out from the flight to manila in the passport... -  and once again for a huge number of incompetent ( / stupid) people in my way.
