puno to la paz - welcome bolivia
ah well, travelling with fever on a local bus between peru and bolivia promised to be loads of fun... and it was!
on the first foot steps in bolivia we encountered some of the bad things that are awaiting us in the south americas cheapest country
the busride itself was not bad, but since commi-evo thought it would be a good idea to take land from rich landowners and redistribute it to poor farmers... well, shit was about to break loose - don't piss off the ones with money, evo
copacabana was basically shut down by strikes so we had to take another border crossing which worked surprisingly fine - we were not held up at the border and could step foot into bolivia.. where we had to wait 2 hours for another bus to arrive to get us to la paz
the difference between peru and bolivia is visible immediately... peru is a bit fucked up, but bolivia's towns are shit holes - dirt everywhere and everything looks really really poor.
but the scenery/landscape is much more impressive than in peru, all the mountains are higher, more colours everywhere you look, snow tops, flora & fauna much more interesting.
unfortunately, our bus ride through bolivia started with the bolivian welcome - a flat tire... and it wouldnt be the last in this country for sure :)
