muang ngoi - what a start
April 25, 2007
... would be a very shitty place to get sick: small village at the river and only accessible by the river, some guesthouses, restaurants, power only by generator from 6 to 9 and in general bad supply of anything - so that would suck really bad
ah well, i am sick in muang ngoi and it's not nice hehe
i don't know if it's the stressful one night stops (not stands!) from chiang mai into deep laos, bad food or of course i'm still not over leaving chona behind! who knows :) probably a bit of everything and a bit too much of bad food
so i woke up with the sun today in my deluxe bungalow right when a thunderstorm came up (bad omen?) and didn't feel that well... grabbed some breakfast, packed my things and moved to the boat landing anyway. forgot about my worries while chatting with the other travellers waiting there (some coming from muang ngoi on the way to luang prabang, others planning to go up as well) but during the 1.5h slow boat ride i felt worse and worse
i somehow managed to get to the only guesthouse in town with ensuite bathroom which was luckily right at the boat landing and even more luckily had a nice room for me. and damn i made good use of that ensuite bathroom for the rest of the day
tadaaa, first time in 6 months travelling around the world i actually vomited! time for champagne! (if there was any in 500km radius or i could handle it... )
