ladies night

there is a lot to say about singapore, and no, almost exclusively positive stuff for once... i like it, a lot. will write a wrap up later, i've met great people the last few days, locals and even a former work colleague. have to structure my thoughts first, so will write about it later.

so important things first: clubbing

wednesdays are ladie's night, meaning free entry and other goodies for the girls in singapore's many clubs. i wanted to go to zouk, a club with a reputation, especially on wednesdays. i was too cheap to get a 6sgd cab down from litle india so i thought im clever and take the mrt to chinatown and cab from there....

good plan, if only i had anticipated the shortage of cabs from cbd at 9... there were 50m queues and all taxis busy. it was war. jesus, like in the rest of se asia the meter rates are just too damn low. what a mess.

decided to change to plan b, ministry of sound. not a singapore native but it's about 6 years since ive been in the london original and it was a great club then & there. here, it's at riverside point / clarke quay station, which is a fantastic dine & drink area at the river. beautiful place.

well, best club i've seen so far in asia. amazing place, it's huge... not asia huge, global huge :) tons of dancefloors, big and small, connected by a labyrinth of stairs, tunnels and escalators(!). cost me 20 sgd to get in and i got 2 drinks for it... not bad, same level as bed & supperclub in bangkok.

so, ladies night... sounds like a great concept but usually results in billions of guys and prostitutes. but it was quite ok yesterday... the occassional ladyboy & prostitute to remind you that you are still in se asia, about 20% westerners but other than that normal, local clubbing folks... and it was packed! on a wednesday! i love singapore!

there's not many things more beautiful to watch than a hip hop floor full of gorgeous asian girls :)

Clarke Quay rocks! I miss it already and I'm jealous you are there! Great to know that Singapore has been treating you well.. I like ladie's nights too :) It's the great mid-week break.. Enjoy your last days there and try to get to the zoo!
