getting pissed in pisco...
... no i'm not pissed yet but the title is just too good :)
we took the public bus to pisco today which was quite an interesting experience: the busterminal in lima does not feel dodgy at all, the busses are much more comfortable than for example megabus in the uk and they even had two onboard movies - what a pleasant surprise
the route was beautiful, across the coastline down to pisco, a small port town in peru. the whole distance of the beach is covered with shantytown like huts and the scenery is really weird... if no ruins are visible than its just desert
the hotel in pisco is gorgeous and the town itself has this latin vibe & picturesque streets everywhere. again, lots of political propaganda everywhere... elections are soon an the political parties drive around the streets with their songs and recorded speeches
we are all excited for tomorrow: in the morning we are doing the 'poor man's galapagos'; i.e. driving out with a speed boat to an island with all sorts of animals (even penguins!) and in the afternoon some sandboarding/buggy driving in the desert - fun!
